Vampire, Shapeshifters, and now….witches? Oh My! This is the new tag line for the new up and coming season of True Blood. The highly anticipated season 4 will be airing June 26th 9pm on HBO. Some are saying this season will outshine the rest in its even more raw nature of violence and sex.
The show will be adopting a major plot twist that opens Charlaine Harris’ Sookie Stackhouse novel, “Dead To The World.” The plot twist, which sets much of the drama of Season 4 in motion and the book. The sexy former Viking-turned-Fangtasia-bar-owner begins Season 4 with NO memory. As for series heroine, waitress and fairy Sookie Stackhouse, she too will have an unusual start to Season 4, having returned from a trip with her fairy godmother. She’s been on a bit of an adventure She disappeared into the soft fuzzy light with Claudine and she comes back different.
Having broken up with Bill Compton (Stephen Moyer) at the end of Season 3, a single Sookie will find herself with several potentional suitors this season, which could mean some Eric action and also a rekindling of that steamy chemistry with werewolf and construction man Alcide ( Joe Manganiello). One fan can only hope from reading the books that she goes down the road we all hope for. I am an Eric fan to heart myself because who wants the baggage of an ex who happens to be a crazy werewolf? Debbi Pelt still at large after the season finale.
We also have a few insight that there will be some developments about Andy Bellfluer may or may not starting a V (vampire blood) addiction, and a huge battle between Bill, The Queen Sophie Anne, and a new player. In addition there will be two new guest stars this season and three new cast members one being a child.
Tuesday, June 7, HBO is airing a True Blood special titled “Digging Up Season 3.” The special will be going back and looking at all the best moments from last season and have the main cast comment on the events and general craziness that took place. Commentary like this is always great for the fans. Getting an actors take on a specific scene can actually be quite illuminating and bring up things you might not have even noticed. I like hearing how an actor breaks down a character’s thought process and motivations. It’s really neat. This is something you should definitely check out. The wait is hard, but HBO is doing all they can to make it easier on the fans.

I can not wait for the new season to start, and will be there June 26th with my own bottle of true blood.
